DECORATIVE FUSED GLASS

Welcome to my website showcasing my decorative fused glass and giving some information about where and when you can find me and my glass.

I live and work in Farnham, which is a lovely Georgian town in Surrey that has a strong craft tradition and also hosts the University for the Creative Arts and the Crafts Study Centre. I moved to Farnham in 2003, to a house that had an outbuilding that could be converted into a studio for my glass work. The next few years were spent refurbishing the house and converting the outbuilding and equipping the studio, and I finally started producing glass for sale in 2008.

Before moving to Farnham, I studied and qualified for the City and Guilds in Decorative Glass and Design at South Thames College in Wandsworth, and during my course I received the college′s Adult Learner Award in Art and Design and a piece of my work was selected by the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington to be displayed there as part of an exhibition of work inspired by the museum′s collections.

I chose glass as my medium because it allows me to combine the strong vibrant colours I love with the texture and tactile quality of glass but still produce an object that is functional. Because of the tactile nature of glass and the way its colour varies according to the ambient light and display location, I prefer to sell my work in person rather than direct from the website - I don′t believe that a photograph can do full justice to a fused glass object.

I hope you enjoy this site and I look forward to meeting you at one of my craft events.
